Design and planning are interdisciplinary processes that require efficient data exchange via interfaces. For correct data transfer in design, visualization, daylight and PV simulation, electrical and energy system planning, cost-benefit analysis, life cycle assessment, and component and solar module production, BIPV elements must be able to be represented as IFC objects in a uniform, open data format (OpenBIM). The BIM4BIPV project aims to lay the foundation for the implementation of a consistent BIM planning flow for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) in the interdisciplinary planning process.
