Ecological Characteristics of Building Components
Environmental data of products and buildings is starting to play a pivotal role. In this online-workshop we
will try to explore, which data will be needed within BIM-models regarding Building Integrated
Photovoltaic (BIPV) products to be placed on the European (EU) market.
Major drivers are the EU’s existing “Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC” and the upcoming substitute, the “Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)”. Furthermore ”Digital Product Passports (DPP)” will be introduced, which will as well transport data of the “Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)”.
The question which data has to be in building models for construction approval or to calculate building related energy certificates and later “Digital Building Passports” or environmental building certificates (ÖGNI, LEED …) will be crucial. From the viewpoint of building professionals this data should be available/ transported as IFC-BIM-data. What is the actual planning for data formats and databases and how are all these challenges connected?
